Stephen Lopez-Bowlan:  

I went to college at Wittenberg University in Springfield OH. I graduated in 1981 with a BA degree (magna cum laude) in Business Administration. I married my college girlfriend just before graduation. I began my professional career as a staff accountant for Price Waterhouse in Boston and earned my CPA license. After 2 years I transferred to Seattle and then 2 years later transferred to San Francisco. After a little less than 2 years in San Francisco I left Price Waterhouse to become the Treasurer of Market Street Trust Company, the wealth management organization for the Houghton family (founders of Corning Inc.). After 2 years in Corning NY I got divorced, decided to rejoin Price Waterhouse in San Francisco, brought in the Getty family work to PW, and met Ellie about 3 months before returning to SF. A year later Ellie and I were married and we will celebrate our 23rd anniversary in July 2012. When we were married I became a step-father to Ellie's then 18 year old daughter which neither she nor I embraced at the time but over a period of a few years we developed a good and respectful relationship. Ellie is a Family Nurse Practioner, political pundit, charitable board member, Governor appointed state regulatory board member, Commissioner of the Presidential Commision for the development of a National Museum of the American Latino, a newspaper columnist, and the author of a chapter in a Nursing textbook. When you Google me you will get more information about Ellie than about me. After 3+ years in SF where the Gettys were my largest client, the Getty family hired me to be Tax Director of their family office in Reno NV, Two years later I was promoted to Chief Financial Officer and a dozen years after that I was named Chief Operating Officer.
